All of the company’s halls – uniquely in Hungary – now officially meet the strict requirements of the EU Taxonomy, which is another significant milestone in the history of the company known for its sustainable developments. In addition, the domestic company has increased the size of the areas with the highest BREEAM sustainability rating available in Hungary by 188 thousand square meters since the beginning of the year, as four of its halls have already earned the Outstanding rating in the New Construction category this year.
HelloParks is an outstanding leader in the industrial real estate sector not only by obtaining the highest BREEAM ratings. All of the company’s operating halls, i.e. all eight buildings, also meet the strict sustainability requirements of the EU Taxonomy. This is a unique achievement for the company, as until now only the facilities they have developed in the entire country have earned this title. The certifications issued under the EU Taxonomy Regulation (EU 2020/852) confirm that all buildings constructed by HelloParks to date significantly contribute to climate change mitigation and the reduction of carbon emissions from industrial properties, while also meeting requirements related to energy efficiency, water management and environmental protection, as well as circular economy, pollution prevention and biodiversity. This EU classification system helps companies, investors and decision-makers align their efforts with more sustainable practices. The logistics sector is particularly characterised by the fact that sustainable developments are key to both regulatory compliance and financial viability, which is why more and more people are specifically looking for modern, green properties.
Since the beginning of the year, the domestic company has increased the size of outstanding areas with BREEAM New Construction Outstanding sustainability certification in Hungary by 188 thousand square meters. All completed HelloParks buildings have thus been certified, and all of the company’s facilities can boast an outstanding rating. The PT3 building, which was recently certified, is the sixth of the company’s halls to earn an Outstanding rating in the New Construction category, alongside PT1 and PT2 in Páty, FT2, FT6 in Fót and MG3 in Maglód. The developer’s professional partners in obtaining the ratings were ABUD Engineering Office, EY Denkstatt and Realiscon. The company now has a total of 352 thousand square meters of BREEAM New Construction Outstanding or Excellent rated halls.
The certificate confirms that the building and its entire life cycle – from material procurement to construction and operation – meet the strictest sustainability requirements. Only 3 percent of buildings worldwide meet the strict requirements of the highest level of the international green building rating system, BREEAM, and in Hungary, only HelloParks develops industrial and logistics warehouses that meet the requirements set during the assessment. This is important for tenants not only because of lower operating costs, but sustainability and energy efficiency are increasingly decisive strategic issues for most companies, which has a serious impact on decision-making.
